I've had my 10" aluminum dutch oven for 4 or 5 years and just love it. Only used it once or twice when camping but this is a must have for my kitchen. Even heating on the stovetop or in the oven and super easy clean up. Looking for one for a Christmas present for my daughter

I've had my GSI 10" aluminum dutch oven for over 25 years now. I bought it to take canoe tripping because of the weight savings over cast iron. I have not regretted the decision for a minute. It is rugged, highly versatile and compact. The lack of integral legs is actually a plus as it can be used on top of a stove as well as in the fire pit. After all these years the lid still fits as well as day one so warping is not a problem here. I bought one of these for my son a few years back and will be buying one for my daughter's camp set-up soon. As you grow in your experience with dutch oven cooking you will appreciate this unit more and more. Just a hint, get a set of cast aluminum plier-style pot grippers to help in lifting the lid and grabbing the wire bale.

Support & Warranty

Warnings

Aluminum conducts heat far more rapidly than traditional cast iron Dutch Ovens. Use care when heating to avoid scorching or burning. For best heating, use coals or charcoal arranged in rings on lid and underneath base. Rotate Dutch Oven and lid regularly to ensure even heating.

Caution

Dutch Ovens are radiant heat items and provide best results when used with evenly distributed coals or charcoal arranged beneath the base and/or on the lid as the recipe requires. Adjust number of coals/charcoal and/or proximity to heat source to reduce heat as necessary. Coals and charcoal may need to be replenished throughout cooking depending on the duration of cooking. Keep an eye on coals or charcoal to ensure that they do not burn out before cooking time has elapsed. Lid and base should be rotated regularly to limit hot-spots and prevent possible overheating. Dutch Ovens may not heat evenly when exposed to direct flame and the quick heat transfer provided by aluminum means that scorching or burning may occur much faster than with slower-conducting cast iron designs without careful use.

Danger

Severe damage may occur if overheated. Use caution if using Dutch Oven in proximity to open flame or fire.

Warranty

All GSI Outdoors products purchased in North America are fully warrantied to the original owner against manufacturer's defects in materials and workmanship.

Normal wear and tear, which includes, but is not limited to, scuffs, dust, dirt, abrasion, etc., is not a valid reason for a warranty return. Repairs due to accident, improper care, or negligence will be performed at a reasonable charge.
